Mitie secures five-year HMRC facilities management contract

  • Mitie has secured a five-year facilities management contract with His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), worth £130 million
  • Across 28 sites up and down the UK, Mitie will provide a range of specialist services to support the maintenance and upgrades of HMRC’s buildings
  • The contract builds on Mitie’s existing partnership with HMRC, having delivered security services across its entire UK estate since 2019

Mitie, the UK’s leading facilities transformation company, has secured a £130 million contract with His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), to deliver integrated facilities management (FM) services across the ‘East Region’ of its estate, including asset maintenance and projects works. The five-year contract comes with the option of extending for up to a further five years.

The new contract will see Mitie deliver planned and reactive engineering, waste management, carbon reduction, landscaping, cleaning, and catering services across 28 HMRC sites up and down the East of the country. This includes its regional hubs in London Stratford, Edinburgh, Leeds, Nottingham, and Croydon, as well as other locations across the east of England and Scotland.

Mitie will directly support HMRC’s wider transformation programme, which aims to make HMRC a great place to work by providing safe, modern, sustainable, and inclusive workplaces. HMRC’s FM services were previously delivered by five suppliers, with this being the first time it has allocated the contract to two suppliers covering the East and West regions respectively.

The contract builds on Mitie’s existing relationship with HMRC, having delivered specialist security services across its entire estate since 2019, with a new contract being awarded in March this year. As a trusted supplier to HMRC, Mitie will now deliver a full suite of FM services at some of HMRC’s biggest and most significant offices.

Jason Towse, Managing Director, Business Services, Mitie, said:

“Building on our existing partnership, we are proud to expand our services to help create more efficient, sustainable, and future-ready workplaces for HMRC’s teams across the UK. From engineering and cleaning to carbon reduction initiatives, we look forward to delivering expert solutions that ensure HMRC’s sites are operating at their best, allowing its people to focus on serving the British public.”
